March 13th 2004, Luciano Pavarotti makes his 379th and last performance at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City, playing the painter Mario Cavaradossi in Giacomo Puccini's Tosca. He receives a 12-minute standing ovation.

March 13th 2018 - Remembering Nokie Edwards, the influential guitarist for Surf and Instrumental Rock pioneers The Ventures, passed away at the age of 82. The instrumental group enjoyed thirty-four Billboard charting albums and placed fourteen singles on the Hot 100.

Pink Floyd's first appearance at the Marquee Club was in 1966, on March 13th. During a performance there in December 1966, the band was seen by Peter Jenner, a lecturer at the London School of Economics who was impressed by their music, particularly the sonic effects created by
